My dreams became tangible when I began planning where each piece of art would live in my hypothetical vending machine and which artists would I beg to be a part of my idea.

Each piece in the vending machine is $50 or less and the machine moves all around West Palm Beach, according to the news outlet. To locate the machine, customers can follow colorful yard signs in the community. Each sign features a cartoon flamingo and copy that reads "Follow the Bird."

West Palm Beach entrepreneur Meghan McKenna didn't set out to become a vending machine expert. But after being awarded the Mini Placemaking Grant from the West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority, enabling her to purchase a machine, she has become exactly that.

The DDA has selected four finalists out of 29 submissions in its search to fund unique ideas for placemaking experiences in Downtown West Palm Beach. Each finalist will receive up to $5,000 to support their project.
